Overnight position for a veterinarian Pet Poison Helpline is seeking to fill a full time, overnight veterinary position. Requirements for the position include a DVM or comparable degree and an interest in the field of toxicology. Board-certification in toxicology (DABT or DABVT), along with completion of a small animal internship, is preferred. Exceptional communication skills, previous ER experience (3 year minimum), the ability to multi-task, strong computer literacy, and typing proficiency is required. Willingness to complete advanced, rigorous training is necessary (for toxicology and EMT certification, which is a 1-2 month program). Duties include providing veterinary toxicology recommendations at a call center. Shifts are typically 8 hours long and begin at 12am – 8 am, with the availability for a rotating 3- and 4- shift work week. Benefits (i.e., health, dental, 401K, etc.) and paid-time off, along with continuing education opportunities available. Applications should be received by May 15, 2010.
