Dr. Amy Estrada joined the Pet Poison Helpline (PPH) in 2019. She received a BS in Environmental, Population and Organismic Biology from the University of Colorado and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. Following graduation, Dr. Estrada completed an internship focusing on emergency medicine at Alameda East Veterinary Hospital. She has worked for over 20 years, primarily in emergency medicine. She has also worked in general practice and was an instructor covering the full curriculum for a veterinary technician program. She continues to work in emergency medicine and as the medical director of an animal blood bank. Dr. Estrada lives in Colorado with her husband, four boys, two dogs and a multitude of reptile and amphibian friends. In her spare time, she enjoys all of the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer, travel, knitting and cooking.
