Toxicity to pets
Pokeberry causes mild to severe oral irritation and gastrointestinal upset when ingested. Extremely large ingestions may also cause cardiac effects including low blood pressure and heart rate changes. All parts of this perennial plant are toxic, however the ripe berries may only cause mild signs or pass through GIT without causing signs. Urine discoloration may occur.
