Toxicity to pets
Oleander contains oleandrin, a cardiac glycoside toxin, throughout the plant. Ingestion of oleander by animals results in gastrointestinal distress (e.g., vomiting and loss of appetite), cardiovascular dysfunction (e.g., irregular heart rate and rhythm) and neurological signs (e.g., weakness, collapse).
