Kia Benson, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Benson graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a double major in Animal Science and Computer Science and went on to obtain her veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota. Dr. Benson worked at a feline specialty clinic and at a human/animal poison center prior to joining Pet Poison Helpline® in 2016. She lives with her husband Ciaran and their beloved cats in Wisconsin. In her spare time, Dr. Benson enjoys reading, canoeing, and camping in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) in northern Minnesota, snowshoeing, horseback riding, and archery.

Dr. Benson has published articles in veterinary journals and newsletters and is a contributing author for Blackwell’s Five-Minute Veterinary Consult: Canine and Feline Seventh Edition by Wiley Publishing. She is also a contributing author to the Toxicology section of the on-line Merck Veterinary Manual.
