Toxicity to pets
Jonquils contain the alkaloid toxin lycorine within all part of the plant. Ingestion by companion animals results in gastrointestinal distress with vomiting, drooling, and retching. Ingestion of large amounts of plant including bulbs may lead to low blood pressure and weakness.
