Cocaine is a nervous system stimulant extracted from the leaves of the coca plant. Inhalation of cocaine (powder or smoke form) or absorption across oral mucus membranes (powder form) by pet animals causes excitability, tremor, seizure, heart rhythm disturbances, and, potentially, death.
