Toxicity to pets
Ornamental Cornflower is non-toxic; however, ingestion of large amounts of this plant may cause mild nausea with emesis. Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus) is not to be confused with Yellow Star Thistle (Centaurea solstitialis) or Russian Knapweed (Rhaponicum (old genus: Centaurea) repens) that causes severe nervous system poisoning in horses.
