Toxicity to pets

Fern is a common name for plants with frond-like leaf structure. However, the range for animal poisoning after ingestion and/or dermal contact is variable and dependent upon the specific fern. Severity of poisoning ranges from non-toxic (e.g., Boston Fern) to mild nausea or dermatitis (e.g., Asparagus Fern) to life-threatening intoxication (e.g., Fern palm, Bracken Fern).
