This plant produces bright red-orange berries which contain cyanogenic glycosides. Pets may find the berries attractive. When the berries are ingested, it can result in rapid onset of vomiting, abdominal pain, dark red mucus membranes, increased temperature, heart rate and blood pressure, respiratory failure and shock.
