Toxicity to pets
The seeds and leaves of horse chestnut trees contain triterpenoid saponins. Ingestion by companion animals and livestock results in gastrointestinal signs of vomiting and diarrhea and neurological symptoms including staggered gait, tremor, collapse and seizure.
