Toxicity to pets
Iris plants cause irritation if ingested or mouthed/pawed by companion animals. The irritating compounds within an iris are present in highest concentration in the rhizome or rooting part of the plant. Ingestion of iris – especially the rhizome- can result in drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy in pets.
