Rebecca Younger-Malleck, DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Hello!  I grew up in Western Kansas, completed my undergraduate studies at Emporia State University and earned my DVM at Kansas State University in 2001.  My first position out of school was in Laramie Wyoming in a mixed animal practice.  We later moved to Denver, Colorado where I owned a practice in the foothills West of Denver for 17 years.  After selling that practice, I took a position in Albuquerque, NM as a Program Director for a Veterinary Technician Program.  After 3 years in Albuquerque, my husband was offered a position back in Denver, and we decided to make the move back.  I had spoken previously with a classmate, Tabatha Regehr, about working with SCI, and upon moving back to Denver, decided to pursue it further.  A fun fact is I am the fourth classmate of the KSU Vet Med class of 2001 to be working here!

I live in Denver, Co., with my husband Tony, and one Black Labrador Retriever mix, “Charley”.

My favorite thing to do is to explore and travel.  My bucket list includes exploring all 50 states, and as many countries as I can fit in.  I love to hike and being back in Colorado I hope to be able to knock out a few more fourteeners.  Other interests include crocheting, reading, improving my culinary skills and tasting new and interesting wines.  Local vineyards are a favorite place to visit! My husband and I are big Dave Matthews Band fans, and we try to hit at least one or two concerts every year.

I’m excited to be a part of SCI and PPH and am looking forward to learning and growing in this position.  I am committed to lifelong learning, and I hope to one day get both the DABT and DABVT certifications.
